According to eyewitnesses, a 28-year-old unemployed Bulgarian man, attacked a 60-year-old British woman with a knife and then fled into the street with the severed head in his hands. The attack occurred without warning and appeared to be random. Security guards from the supermarket chased after the man across the road and pinned him to the ground. The suspect, identified as Deyan Valentinov, was reported to have received psychiatric treatment at a local hospital in February after being involved in previous violent incidents.
